The James E. and Dorothy M. Geddes Memorial Graduate Scholarship in History provides financial assistance to Oregonians in good academic standing seeking to obtain a graduate degree who, because of financial need, might not otherwise be able to attend the University of Oregon.

Eligible candidates for the Geddes Memorial Graduate Scholarship must meet the following criteria:

• Native-born Oregonian, including American Indian
• Undergraduate GPA of 3.5 and above
• Demonstrated financial need

Preference will be given to those candidates with either of the qualifiers below:

• Field of study: European or Middle Eastern history
• Post-graduate interest: a desire to teach history
